We are happy to announce a $2500 grant to Megan's Wings from Albertsons Companies Foundation to help fund our Patient Aid Program in 2022! This grant will help Megan's Wings provide food assistance to childhood cancer families who are experiencing food insecurities due to lost income and increased out of pocket expenses resulting from their child's cancer diagnosis. We are so grateful for this new partnership between Megan's Wings and Albertsons to help provide food to pediatric oncology families in need. Many families are feeling the rise in food costs due to inflation, and $6/gallon gas prices that take away from income normally used for groceries. When parents needs to cut back hours at work to get their child to treatment and care for them at home, rising food and gas prices add to this financial hardship.
Megan's Wings programs are designed to intervene and catch families before financial difficulties can interfere with a patient's well-being or ability to make it to treatment.
